Thorne based Child Protection SOCIAL WORKERS – who really want to make a difference

Are you at least 24 months in to your social worker career (post ASYE) and now want to develop your talent in a progressive organisation that is seen as innovative and making a difference?

We have vacancies at our East locality based out of Thorne.

Let’s tell you a little bit about Thorne:

This small market town nestles on the borders of South Yorkshire, East Riding and North Lincolnshire. It is surrounded by picturesque landscape and well connected waterways including a canal.

Thorne is 11 miles north east of Doncaster, with easy links to the M18 (Junction 6) and the M180 (Junction 1).  There are two rail stations. Thorne North is on the Sheffield to Hull line. Train services from Sheffield and Doncaster to Scunthorpe call at Thorne South.

Thorne is nicknamed Little Holland. Why? The market town, has a big horizon, flat landscapes a river and a canal. How Dutch is that? There is an important historical and  geographical link to Holland. The marshes around Thorne were transformed into farmland by one Cornelius Vermuyden (a Dutchman) during the mid-17th century.

If you join us you will be working from the Vermuyden Centre, which we co-share with the NHS and Local Authority.

Our two locality child protection teams at Thorne are keen to welcome experienced social workers who want to make a real difference to the lives of children, young people and families. Joining these teams will also give you an opportunity to work with our Parent and Family Support Workers and also our Children in Care teams all working together to make a  difference to the lives of our most vulnerable in the East of the Doncaster borough.

With a fantastic social worker and team manager practice development programme established in 2016 we will hone and develop your practice like no other organisation in the UK.

We are doing this to ensure our practice is leading edge and that our social workers are supported and developed to maximise their confidence and competence at all times.

Having successfully attracted new colleagues from across Yorkshire and other counties and countries (including USA) and 28 of our agency workers joining us permanently we want to bring in even more qualified workers who can improve children and young people’s lives.

Here is what we can offer qualified and registered HCPC social workers who have more than 24 months post ASYE social worker experience::

-          Salary commensurate with your experience

-          Discount Scheme for high street names

-          HCPC membership fee is reimbursed by the Trust

-          Free parking at the Vermuyden Centre

-          Personal Development including the opportunity to get involved in research and innovation projects

-          Practice development which we believe is best of the best.
